Destination: This is one of our favorite paddles on the Puntledge River. Paddle from the dam on Comox Lake to the second dam located downstream then paddle back.
Date: Monday, Aug 12, 2024
Time: Please arrive at 12:15 to allow time to carry boats to the water. Launch at 1:00 PM.
Meeting Place: Meet at the parking lot at the Puntledge River dam as the river comes out of Comox Lake. Take Lake Trail southwest. Turn left on Comox Logging Road. Follow the signs towards the Rod and Gun Club. Carry on past the Rod and Gun Club entrance for 1 km and cross the bridge on the Puntledge. Turn right into the parking lot. Please look at this Google Map ahead of time as there is NO cell service and people have been known to take a wrong turn and get lost: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/49.680964,-125.0094877/49.6426214,-125.0974903/@49.6598715,-125.0757628,13.5z?entry=ttu
Description: The trip is 7 km total. We paddle down river for 3 1/2 km tucking into bays and channels. It is a very beautiful and leisurely paddle. There will be some current to overcome on the way back but not challenging. Bring swim suits and towels to enjoy a refreshing swim in the Puntledge afterwards.
Length of Trip: 2 hours
Rating: 1 Day Paddle–Easy (for more details http://comoxvalleypaddlers.ca/trip-ratings)
This would be a “relaxed” paddle for SISKA members.

Max. People: Everyone welcome!
Other Conditions: Weather is not likely much of an issue as winds do not usually affect us as much on the river and we can paddle in the rain.
Notes: Boats need to be carried a couple hundred metres to the water. There will be lots of people willing to help load and unload and carry.
REMINDER: Tonight is the Potluck at the Lions’ Den!!!
