Time Table:
12:00 NOON Meet at Brechin Ramp near Departure Bay Ferry Terminal.
Pay Parking
1:00 LAUNCH: 1-hour paddle N around Newcastle to park 2.7 NM
2:00 Land at park. Incoming Tide at 12.7 ft.
3:15 Depart to paddle in the strait around the outside of Protection Island. 2 NM. High Tide 13 ft.
4:15 Dock inside Nanaimo Harbour on the wooden dock at Protection Island to explore.
5:00 Famous floating Dinghy Dock Pub supper.
OFFICIAL CLUB PADDLE ENDS HERE. ***Some may leave early or stay late. Some may go to Newcastle to camp.
6:30ish I will be happy to have you join me to launch and return to Brechin Ramp, completing a circumnavigation of both islands! 2.5 NM
7:30 LAND at Brechin Ramp
Approx. 7.3 NM OR 13 KM. — 3 h. Paddle with 2 extended rest stops.
You might want to bring walking shoes and don’t forget CASH and CARD for parking and supper AND A BOWLINE to tie up at dock.
