Meeting Time/Place:
1 pm in Royston @ Marine Drive & Royston Road
Launch Time: 1:30pm paddle (= “Paddles in the water” @ 1:30 pm)
Description: Weather dependent, we will paddle around the Royston Wrecks and
either make our way over to ‘Little Mexico’ on Goose Spit (approx. 1 nm crossing)
or, if the weather is less favorable, we will paddle north along the coast into the
estuary, possibly going part way up the Courtenay and Puntledge rivers.
Length of Trip: paddle for 2.5-3 hours
Rating: CPC rating = 1 easy; SISKA rating = “Relaxed paddle”

Maximum People: No limit – however a minimum of 3 paddlers is required.

Tides: High Tide of 4.39 m @ 9:49 AM, low tide of 3.2 m @ 3:08 pm
Not much fluctuation in afternoon tides on this day. We will check wind and other
weather conditions prior to launch.
Notes: You can drive right onto the beach where we’ll lunch. Paddlers might need
to help each other and/or use wheels. Please dress for the water temperature and
have practiced your rescues this year. Watch out for the remains of ships that you
