Destination:   Comox lake, north shore.

Date/Time:  Wed, August 7th 16:30 & on water by 17:00.

Meeting Place:  Comox Lake dam parking area (outside the gate)

Description:  Launching close to the dam, we will paddle west along the north shore of the lake, along the bluffs and a few pocket beaches. It’s a gorgeous part of the lake with arbutus trees along the rocky bluffs, clear cool water inviting a swim (or practice rolling). There is 1 or 2 spots to get out of the boats and we’ll do so for a break before heading back. It’s an out and back paddle, but it’s so nice it doesn’t feel like it and you can venture a bit further out in the lake for a different perspective.

Length of Trip:  About 3 hours.

Rating:  1, ranging to 2ish if breezy.

Coordinator:  James Vasilyev  jvasilyev@yahoo.com  250 218 7233

Maximum paddlers:  Hmmmm, hard to say. Limited mostly by parking.

Notes:  parking may be a limiting factor at the launch. It may be empty, or nearly full depending on other visitors to the area.  The launch can be a bit tricky and requires a longer carry (about 100m) over moderately rough ground to get to the waters edge. Sturdy footwear is a good idea.
