Destination:  Saratoga Beach

Date:  Wed July 22nd

Time:  Paddles in the water at 6 pm

Coordinator: Dave Lapointe (davel@island.net)

Meeting Place:  The beach between Eyre Rd and Saratoga Beach Access (Seaman Rd). Park at either access point.

Description:  An easy 2 hr paddle heading north towards Oyster River and Stories Beach. Since the beach is so gradual and the water generally pretty warm I’d like to suggest returning to the beach a bit early (like around 7:30 or 8) to practice self-rescues. It’s shallow, so it’s quite safe and the worst that will happen is that you might feel a bit silly for falling off your kayak. There is a change room at the Beach Access parking lot.

6 pm will be mid-part of rising tide so it won’t be too far to the water at start, and quite a short distance when we’re finished.

Length of Trip (hours/days):  2 1/2 hours

Rating:  (1= Day Paddle–Easy. 2=Day Paddle–Intermediate. 3=Day Paddle–Advanced. 4=Tripping.) Rated as a 1 or possibly 2a depending on wind and water at the time.
