Destination: Newcastle and Protection Islands DAY PADDLE

Day: Thursday, June 27
Launch: Brechin Ramp, Nanaimo
Launch Time: 12:15pm
Time Table:
10:30 Depart Canadian Tire lot meeting place or go on your own.
11:45 Meet at Brechin Ramp near Departure Bay ferry terminal
12:15 Launch for 1 hour paddle N around Newcastle (2.7 NM)
1:15 Picnic lunch on Newcastle Island and explore.
3:15 Depart to Paddle around Protection Island (2 NM)
4:15 The famous floating Dingy Dock Pub, supper and explore Protection Island.
6:00 Launch to return (2.5 NM)
7:00 Brechin Ramp/Load up! Good days’ paddle of 3 hours on the water with 2 extended rest stops with washrooms and hiking.
**Bring water, picnic lunch, money for supper, and parking and perhaps walking shoes.**
*** Note – drinking and boating don’t mix….our paddle club insurance does not allow for boozin’ cruisin’ ***
MAXIMUM 12 PEOPLE, PREFERABLY HAVING DONE A SELF RESCUE CLINIC.
