Directions:  Turn north off the Comox Valley Parkway onto Memorial Road (the street sign says ‘Memorial Road’, but Google Maps says ‘Minto Road’), and follow the left branch past the Cumberland Cemetary, slight right, then under the highway to the end. The gravel road is a bit rough at times. Launch site will be at the first small beach on your right after walking in the woods near the parking area. To facilitate the on-shore pre-paddle safety talk, use the hillside at the beach as a staging area. Access to the water is a little challenging with the slope and only 1 boat at a time can launch, so we will help each other both with carrying from/to the cars as well as to/from the shoreline from the staging area.

Description: Being on a sheltered lake, this may be a good opportunity to practice strokes and other paddling skills, such as wet exits and rescues, although it is NOT a formal lesson.

While there are several little beaches where one could go ashore if needed, the plan is to stay on the water for up to 2 hours.

Length of Trip (hours/days): max. 2 hours
