Destination: Mohun Lake – Day Trip (located at Morton Lake Provincial Park
Date: August 6, 2026
Description: Day trip to Mohun Lake (part of the Sayward Canoe Route) to paddle the lake and have lunch lakeside, paddle some more to return to launch site. Bring a lunch! Outhouse available at launch site and on Mohun Island (south end of lake).
Time: Depart Comox Valley 7:00am for arrival at launch at 9am, paddles in water at 9:30am
Meeting Place: Option to meet at Car Park at Cumberland Rd and Highway 1A (7am) or Starbucks at Jubilee Parkway (Campbell River Airport turnoff) (7:30am) or Morton Lake Provincial Park parking area where sign in will take place (9:00am). Indicate where you want to meet when you sign up for the paddle.
Directions: To get there, head north from Campbell River on Highway 19, turn off onto the Menzies Main logging road (look for sign for Morton Lake Provincial Park), and follow the gravel roads to Morton Lake Road. Continue past the campground entrance to Mohun Lake.

Boat launch is shared with motorized boats. Will need to pull up at boat launch to the left of the provincial park entrance (look for Mohun Lake), unload quickly and then park at Provincial Park parking lot
