Destination: Kingfisher Spa Beach

ARRIVE: 5:00 pm at the Inside of Goose Spit
LAUNCH TIME: 5:20 pm
MEETING PLACE: Inside of Goose Spit (near outhouses)
LENGTH OF TRIP: ~ 5 NM (this will be one of our longer Wednesday night paddle distances)
TRIP DESCRIPTION:
Launch from the inside of Goose Spit (near the outhouses) and paddle to the outside tip of Goose Spit. From there we will do a formation crossing of Baynes Sound (~1 NM) towards Gartley Point (can expect to encounter boat traffic and possibly orcas). We then paddle south along the shoreline to the Kingfisher Spa beach.
Total distance to the Spa is 2.3 NM and is estimated to take 1.25 hrs (one way). The paddle out will take place around slack tide.
Depart the Spa at 7:30 pm for a 1 hr paddle back with and incoming tide. Total distance paddled there and back ~5 NM.
Expected return time is 8:30 pm to land back at the inside Goose Spit
Sunset is at 9:17 pm. Tides: at 17:39 is a fairly high low tide of 8.5 ft.
TRIP RATING: Level 2a paddle: a crossing, current and possible wind.

NOTES: It is expected that all participants will have done a self and/or assisted rescue AND will have a seaworthy kayak with all required safety equipment. No maximum number of paddlers.
